TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
The word “comfort” in the Bible has a special meeting. We sometimes think of comfort as the pleasure of an easy chair, or the feeling of delight as we fall on our plush bed after working all day. Comfort in the Bible has these facets, but the true comfort of the Lord is being enveloped by His love and presence, hearing Him say “Peace I leave with you,” and knowing that through Jesus you are no more under His wrath, but wrapped in His acceptance.
Psalm 119:49-50
“Remember your word to your servant, in which you have made me hope. This is my comfort in my affliction, that your promise gives me life.”
