TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.” (James 2:18b). This book of the Bible was written by James, the half-brother of Jesus. It is a letter and is very practical in its instructions to believers.
In this epistle, the author reminds Christians that, even though they are saved by faith alone in Jesus, good deeds are still important. Because of our sin, we cannot hope to be saved by our works. Still, the book of James reminds us that, once we are followers of Christ, our actions should be a consistent witness of our commitment to God.
In our verse for today, we are reminded that deeds are evidence of our faith in Jesus. So, as your read our scripture passage for today, recommit yourself to proclaiming Jesus Christ…not only with your lips, but with your transformed life as well!
