TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
Back in the olden days, sailors in ships traveling across the ocean dreaded the “doldrums,” those times when the wind didn’t blow and the ship went nowhere. Sometimes for days they just sat on the sea. Paralyzed with nowhere to go. Are you in “doldrums” in your life? Do you feel as if you are going nowhere and the winds of God’s Spirit are nowhere to be found? Well, be of good cheer! In our scripture reading for today we learn that God is always at work, whether we perceive Him or not. He is doing a new thing always for his children, and he will make a way for you!
Isaiah 43:19
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
