"COME, LET US REASON TOGETHER"
Isaiah 1:18
"Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool."
Discover It
In the midst of national sin, this verse was a powerful invitation from the Lord spoken through the prophet Isaiah to Israel. In this scriptural passage, the Lord who calls Israel to recognize their sin, to repent, and to embrace His forgiveness. The imagery of scarlet and crimson—deep and vivid stains—represents sin's impact on our lives. Yet, God offers a transformation: from the degradation of sin to pure and clean, like fresh snow or soft, clean wool. This promise is not based on what we can do but on God’s mercy and willingness to forgive when we turn to Him. Just as God invited Israel, He invites us today. No matter how far we’ve strayed or how heavy our guilt feels, His grace is sufficient to wash us clean. The birth of Jesus, which we celebrate during this season, is the ultimate fulfillment of this promise. He came to cleanse our sins and restore us to a right relationship with God.
