Psalm 23:1-3a

Discover It
Life can feel busy and overwhelming, especially at Christmastime with everyone in a holiday rush to meet the responsibilities of work, school, home, shopping, and chores. In moments like these, it’s easy to forget that we are not meant to manage everything on our own. Psalm 23 reminds us that the Lord is our Shepherd—a loving, attentive guide who provides for our every need. He leads us to places of rest and refreshment, even when life feels chaotic. So, today with your family or friends, reflect on how you can trust God to care for you and help you to experience the peace He offers.

1. What does it mean for the Lord to be our Shepherd? How does he care for us as a shepherd who cares for his sheep?
2. How do "green pastures" and "still waters" symbolize God’s care for us? How does God “restore our soul”?

Live It
1. Trust God’s Provision: Just as a shepherd ensures his sheep have everything they need, God takes care of us. Let’s remind ourselves daily that He knows our needs better than we do. As a family, we can set aside time to pause, reflect, and find renewal together in God’s presence.
2. Stay Close to the Shepherd: Sheep thrive when they follow their shepherd closely. Through prayer, Bible reading, and worship, we stay connected to God and can better recognize His guidance.
3. Share the Peace: When we experience God’s peace, we can extend it to others—by being patient, kind, and encouraging to one another. .

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for being our loving Shepherd. We are so grateful that You care for us, provide for us, and lead us to places of peace and rest.
