"NEW YEAR'S REVOLUTION"

1 Peter 3:15

"But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect."

Discover It

As we step into a new year, we often think about resolutions – goals and commitments that help us grow and improve. For Christians, one of the most meaningful resolutions is to share the love of Jesus with others. Sharing our faith isn’t about being perfect or having all the answers; it’s about letting the light of Christ shine through us in our words, actions, and relationships. 1 Peter 3:15 reminds us to always be ready to share the hope we have in Christ, doing so with gentleness and respect. Our church, South Main is resolving this year to make sharing Jesus’ love a priority. If we really do this, our “resolution” will turn into “revolution” as we see lives changed and redeemed!

Ask It

1. In 1 Peter 3:15, what do you think it means to, “revere Christ as Lord" in your heart? How can you honor and life up Jesus in your heart and life today?

2. Our verse also encourages us to share our faith with “gentleness and respect.” Why is gentleness and respect important as we interact with others?

3. Can you think of someone in your life who needs to hear about the love of Jesus? How can you reach out to them?

Live It

1. Pray Together: Make a family prayer list of friends, neighbors, or relatives who need to experience God’s love. Pray for opportunities to share Christ with them.

2. Show Kindness: Look for small ways to demonstrate Jesus’ love, such as helping someone in need, inviting someone to church, or writing an encouraging note.

3. Practice Sharing: Take time as a family to practice sharing your faith. Each person can share what Jesus means to them in simple terms. Memorize a few helpful scriptures.

Pray It

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the hope we have in Jesus Christ. Help us to always keep You as the Lord of our hearts and lives. And give us the courage, wisdom, and compassion to share Your love with others. Teach us to speak with gentleness and respect, and to reflect Your grace in all that we do. May this year be a time when others come to know You through our words and actions. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
